Back home :D

I’m finally backed home to Sibu, where I can have all nice sleeps and rests and food. Before this I had NVC, a programme that we went to secondary schools to promote, explain and answer questions about the faculties available in um. It’s a two-week-trip to a particular school in different states in penisular, schools in Teluk Intan, Perak; Jitra, Kedah; Kota Bahru, Kelantan; Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Raub, Pahang; Batu Pahat, Johor; Alor Gajah, Melaka.

During the trip, I realized/experienced/felt/saw/ate,
1. The Malay Language I spoke for these two weeks was more than what I spoke in my first 20 years.

2. Aside from KL, other cities in penisular don’t have as many tall buildings, which are very much like Sibu, or perhaps Bintangor. Yet few people still think that East Malaysians live on trees. Like Freya said, tourism advertisements could be blamed for that. Usually when West Malaysia is shooted, KL tower, KLCC will appear on the screen, while when it comes Sarawak, rainforests, longhouses, natives will come out. Thus it creates the misconception that WM is advanced and places in EM are all rural and people still live on trees. ;P

3. Terengganu state public library looked not smaller than UM library. Is UM library really the biggest in the country?

4. KL is heavily polluted as I don’t experience mosquitoes and insects in campus. In Kelantan and Terengganu especially, my limbs were itchy due to countless insect bites. (Though it’s very irritating, but it’s somehow a good and delighting sign that the ecosystems there are still well preserved.)

5. Life would be so much better if our college is more equipped and clean. The best hostel I experienced in the trip was UDM’s. The size and the interior of the apartments are (not to be remembered or I’ll complain more on our beloved 7th college.)

6. People got to plan before act. Spontaneity can’t be applied every time, not everyone can accept it.

7. Older people seldom admit their mistakes. Youngsters are usually blamed before they realize their own mistakes.

8. Speak is easier than act, some speak and never act, some act before they speak.

9. My first dunkin donut, somewhere in the highway between kl and johor – bought at a convenient store in petronas gas station.

10. Became a two-minute-muslim (outwardly-with the muslims robes and tudung on) while we were visiting masjid crystal in terengganu. The building is very pretty, got to see nice Islamic architecture there.

11. Banjaran Titiwangsa is so beautiful, I was never tired of looking at the green in our journey, it’s truly of God’s creation. ^^

12. 12.05am, May 21, on the highway before Daerah Yong Peng, Johor, it was the first time I saw so many stars in the sky. They’re simply countless. I couldn’t take my eyes off the stars, they’re so pretty. Always I only saw a couple of stars in the sky, both in KL and in Sibu (guess I live in the town with all ridiculously bright lights that block the stars from our sight).

13. Global warming is really an important issue that everyone should be aware of. I thought only KL’s weather is hot but it’s the same with all other places. I thought rural areas would be cooler and unfortunately they’re not. It’s freaking hot everywhere.

It’s a nice trip and I had fun getting together with the members, 31 people traveling in a bus for two weeks is not a coincidence. I had great time with (especially) the first years, and seeing the playful side of the second years. I’m really thankful for the programme, not only I can help students, but I’ve helped myself too (except that I ruined my stomach due to irregular time of eating and my eyebags are fully developed due to lack of sleep ).

After the trip I went to Yin’s place at the very same day (thanks calvin for taking me there). I felt homey, finally can have a nice sleep after the tiring trip. Yin came back the second day and we had great time transferring movies and dramas from our pcs (now I’ve so many dramas to watch I dunno where to start off….).

We went for movie the next day, Star Trek at Times Square. I’m never a star trek fan until I watch the movie. It’s a very fascinating sci-fi movie, I came out appalling Spock (Zachary Quinto), although he’s the ultimate bad guy in Heroes, but he’s so cool and manly in the movie… Keke… The only not-good-thing was there were some technical problem, that the movie stopped when the movie was in it’s climax and everyone was like “Ooohhhh….”, including me. I dunno what happened to the technicians they took at least 15 minutes to make the movie back to normal, and everyone can watch it happily. But in all, it’s still a very good movie and the problem didn’t spoil the fun watching it.

I watched 11 epis of hyakki yakoushou in yin’s house, and the yesterday the last epi. It’s a short jap drama about a boy who can see ghosts and spirits, and how he encounter those who want to hurt him. I like the drama very much though it’s not a very fast-action-based drama with extraordinary technologies and story line, but rather a (slow) story that touch on family, friendship, promises and faith. From the drama, it can be seen that the Japanese really believe there are spirits every living things or non living things, that may be one of the reasons that they still preserve their culture, nature and environment very well despite rapid development in the cities.

Am in love with Bleach’s op, Velonica by Aquaz Times. ^^

It’s time to do a detailed planning on how to read all books, watch all movies, and meet all friends in five weeks. Ganbarimasu.

Last day of exam~

Last paper, Prose 1. 2 questions answers with 20 marks for each question. Wonder how elaborating on 1 point can get 20 marks. Is it just me, 1 point?

Then, like last semester, Teslians (+Actuar-ians) outing after exam. Same place, same event---MidValley, movie, dinner and shopping. This time we watched Wolverine (after much debating on which movie to watch, and i win,no snipers, muahahahaha~), it's nice, like it very much, the actions are really awesome^ ^...

Later went to Chopsticks for dinner + early celebration for Crystal and PhangKhit's birthday. Happy Birthday guys!

Missed Alan's birthday party though, so surprised Darius came back (in his pilot trainee uniform...looked more nurse to me...). I wish i can kagebunshin, then i can attend every events tonight (cg especially...). Happy Birthday Alan!

(WangShan: Yay exam over!)

(Before setting off to MidValley...)

Finals

Three papers over. Two left. (Yay)

The first and last time i opened up the books to read and study in the semester. (Guess this applies to many people...) Then the papers and scripts will go to KaiChur's room - one of the collecting centres for stuffs to be recycled.

Was studying hard for Philosophy of Education, this's the first time in so many years that i actually memorise the points... However it's not effective, i'm yet to find a suitable memorizing method...

One month left to go home ~ looking forward to it...

After a few weeks....

It’s been a long time. Now it’s come to study week, I’m recalling my memories...

25.03.09 Choir competition! After months and months of practices, there we were, performing the songs that we were practicing hard for. We were so nervous when we were at the back stage, kept telling each other to relax. Looking at other college teams made us (or me) even more nervous. Lucky we were in the second team to go up the stage and sing and we didn’t need to bother about other team after that. XD We got the fourth place, it’s quite a disappointed result but we knew we had done out best. I’m grateful that I joined choir and actually sang on the stage, it’s a brand new experience for me. (I can’t believe myself singing on stage, it’s not really my thing, and especially with all the ridiculously heavy makeup…) Thanks for all seniors and friends who helped and supported us.

26/27.03.09 Entrepreneurship day. We sold (not many) things, which were Chinese cuttings and crafts, nuts and plums, sushi bread roll, sandwishes, and inai. (just did the presentation, still fresh in mind…) It’s fun, selling things and begging people to come and buy our products…(Although buying is more fun…). I like the Chinese cuttings very much, they’re really arts… I’m very impressed by those people who cut the papers… Our sushi bread roll was ok, though I like it more when we did it ourselves in college. Sangi drew Inai for me, it’s pretty, she’s really talented in arts… We ended the day with RM150 profit...

28.03.09 Rehearsal day for our play. It’s kinda a waste of time since not everybody was there. But we had the whole thing gone through. Later mian yen and me went for dim sam with ah siong, yam yam…

29.03.09 Farewell for Darius. We went all the way to Mont Tiara, nearly got lost. We had dinner at Boston as Darius had vouchers with him. As usual, we took a lot a SS pics and laughed absurdly at jokes, which were mostly cold since there’re two big jokers there… On the way back Darius went to a wrong lane and we entered a mysterious dark uncompleted highway. It’s really spooky. Lucky we got out safe and sound. Phew…

30.03.09 Ing Chan flew to Japan. I planned to go to KLIA on the night before and came back early in the morning for class but thanks to my sister, my mom warned me not to go there, dangerous, she said. Oh well… I was sad I didn’t talk to her well before she left, thanks to her lousy phone, low battery. I didn’t even greet her goodbye. But to think of it, if I went to airport, I’d just come back with swollen eyes, shall I say I’m lucky I wasn there? Now she’s all ok in Japan, thank Lord for that. Pray that, Lord, for her protection and spiritual fulfillment in the hard land.

04.04.09 Play performance. We did it at the audi in edu fac. Every group did well since we had short practices before that. Everyone was cute and funny acting up on the stage. I was a narrator so I stood down there and read lines. Not satisfied with myself, there were some “mis-pronunced” words…Sigh…

05.04.09 A trip to elephant sanctuary with Prof G and coursemates. It’s located at Kuala Gandar (not sure the spelling), Pahang. We went in van for around one and a half hour and we dropped by deer park before we went to elephant sanctuary. We went in there and fed deers, the deers were all hungry. Whenever they saw people with food, they would all rush there and eat the food. It’s kind of aggressive but pity them, I guess they were not given enough food by the ‘deer’-keeper because they needed to entertain WE visitors… Then we went to play with pythons, took photo with them, I mean. It’s not as scary as I though, I could feel it moving on my hand, kekeke… it’s fun looking at mel and sangi sambil screaming sambil making pose for photo shooting; billie and mary’s disgusted faces, and mian’s frightened face. Yin’s very natural with ‘em though. Then we went to look at bears and monkeys, then we left to elephant sanctuary. We reached there shortly after that. We watched an half-an-hour video about how elephants are protected. Then we went to feed elephants. After that, elephant ride. Each person got to ride on it once. I rode with mel, she was so scared behind me…. Keke… It rained right after that, cats and dogs… but it didn’t stop us from going to the next activity, “bathing” with the elephants. It’s not exactly bathing. We went beside a lake, people sat on the elephants and it would walk a few steps and threw all people down into the lake. It’s fun though the water is NOT VERY clean. Everyone was playing happily in the water. Unfortunately when it’s mel and my turn, the ‘shop’ was closed. The elephant went back and we didn’t get into the water with the elephant. When I thought everything ended; accepted the fact that I was not going to get wet; happy with it since I didn’t bring an extra pants with me and it’s time to go back; I was set up by mian sangi amy and tim, being thrown into the lake. I had to borrow pants from Jared… so embarrassing… Finally we reached college at six something, all exhausted and satisfied with the trip. Thanks Prof G for bringing us there, and everyone for the fun I had.

07.04.09 ESL test. Didn't really study for it so... CC farewell that night... Not everybody was there...the director was cute... can compete with mkc director in giving opening speech. A memorable night that we saw many seniors crying... lucky i was not infected by crying-bugs, i was strong enough that night. Wish all graduating seniors a good future ahead... am going miss you guys...

08.04.09 Grammar test. It turned out sad. Sigh… We had our last class with Prof G and Dr. Aini. So sad that they are retiring, two good lecturers. Though I didn’t like Aini’s, but she’s really good as she cares for us… like a secondary school teacher. Feel guilty for always sleeping in class… Sorry prof-s. Besides, I missed the last PKV meeting….I heard everyone was there… sigh…. See ya guys next sem then…

10.04.09 Good Friday. I went to church for Easter production. They drama was awesome, the crew really worked on it. It reminded me of Jesus, his crucification, it’s so important for us that without him, there’ll be no us. Pastor taught about love and forgiveness, we have to forgive people like how God forgive us. And we have to fight the devil off from destroying our relationship with God… Yes, we’re gonna do it!

11.04.09 Archuleta’s showcase. I went to sunway pyramid with sangi+sister+boyfriend mel and aini in the morning. We had lunch and went to meet up with digi people, to get ourselves registered then we went to wait for the shuttle bus to the elephant walk. The bus was super crowded. We only got in the second bus, squeezed in… We’re really like tuna fish… We reached there at 3, it’s darn crowded at the entrance… securities were shouting, people were squeezing and (maybe not) pushing. We were lucky to get a VIP pass and got in without much trouble. There’s a long walk before we got to the place where the showcase was held. There’s a big crowd, and everybody was screaming. I was too dehydrated to scream… David Archuleta reached there late…. As expected…. Before he performed there were three artists singing, one was (I dunno the name-he’s some first runner up in astro song competition)… I like his dancing; another was (forgot the name already… from one in a million…) guy… then later was Daniel from malaysian idol. Then there he came… everybody screamed like crazy… He was so adorable…His vocal was so powerful… Wuu… like ‘im. (However if it’s cook it’ll be even more exciting…) He sang six songs and then ‘wpoof’, bye bye. It’s really nice seeing him singing from a close distance… Thanks Melissa for bringing me there…

(12.04.09 Will be going to church and pc fair…. Looking forward to it…. Yay…)

Thank God for everything. ^ ^

Confused

Did i make a right decision?

Why do i still doubt it?

Why can't i stand firm on my own perception?

I'm lying to myself.

I've been too thoughtful.

Afraid of changes.

Afraid of disagreement.
