Back home :D

I’m finally backed home to Sibu, where I can have all nice sleeps and rests and food. Before this I had NVC, a programme that we went to secondary schools to promote, explain and answer questions about the faculties available in um. It’s a two-week-trip to a particular school in different states in penisular, schools in Teluk Intan, Perak; Jitra, Kedah; Kota Bahru, Kelantan; Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu; Raub, Pahang; Batu Pahat, Johor; Alor Gajah, Melaka.

During the trip, I realized/experienced/felt/saw/ate,
1. The Malay Language I spoke for these two weeks was more than what I spoke in my first 20 years.

2. Aside from KL, other cities in penisular don’t have as many tall buildings, which are very much like Sibu, or perhaps Bintangor. Yet few people still think that East Malaysians live on trees. Like Freya said, tourism advertisements could be blamed for that. Usually when West Malaysia is shooted, KL tower, KLCC will appear on the screen, while when it comes Sarawak, rainforests, longhouses, natives will come out. Thus it creates the misconception that WM is advanced and places in EM are all rural and people still live on trees. ;P

3. Terengganu state public library looked not smaller than UM library. Is UM library really the biggest in the country?

4. KL is heavily polluted as I don’t experience mosquitoes and insects in campus. In Kelantan and Terengganu especially, my limbs were itchy due to countless insect bites. (Though it’s very irritating, but it’s somehow a good and delighting sign that the ecosystems there are still well preserved.)

5. Life would be so much better if our college is more equipped and clean. The best hostel I experienced in the trip was UDM’s. The size and the interior of the apartments are (not to be remembered or I’ll complain more on our beloved 7th college.)

6. People got to plan before act. Spontaneity can’t be applied every time, not everyone can accept it.

7. Older people seldom admit their mistakes. Youngsters are usually blamed before they realize their own mistakes.

8. Speak is easier than act, some speak and never act, some act before they speak.

9. My first dunkin donut, somewhere in the highway between kl and johor – bought at a convenient store in petronas gas station.

10. Became a two-minute-muslim (outwardly-with the muslims robes and tudung on) while we were visiting masjid crystal in terengganu. The building is very pretty, got to see nice Islamic architecture there.

11. Banjaran Titiwangsa is so beautiful, I was never tired of looking at the green in our journey, it’s truly of God’s creation. ^^

12. 12.05am, May 21, on the highway before Daerah Yong Peng, Johor, it was the first time I saw so many stars in the sky. They’re simply countless. I couldn’t take my eyes off the stars, they’re so pretty. Always I only saw a couple of stars in the sky, both in KL and in Sibu (guess I live in the town with all ridiculously bright lights that block the stars from our sight).

13. Global warming is really an important issue that everyone should be aware of. I thought only KL’s weather is hot but it’s the same with all other places. I thought rural areas would be cooler and unfortunately they’re not. It’s freaking hot everywhere.

It’s a nice trip and I had fun getting together with the members, 31 people traveling in a bus for two weeks is not a coincidence. I had great time with (especially) the first years, and seeing the playful side of the second years. I’m really thankful for the programme, not only I can help students, but I’ve helped myself too (except that I ruined my stomach due to irregular time of eating and my eyebags are fully developed due to lack of sleep ).

After the trip I went to Yin’s place at the very same day (thanks calvin for taking me there). I felt homey, finally can have a nice sleep after the tiring trip. Yin came back the second day and we had great time transferring movies and dramas from our pcs (now I’ve so many dramas to watch I dunno where to start off….).

We went for movie the next day, Star Trek at Times Square. I’m never a star trek fan until I watch the movie. It’s a very fascinating sci-fi movie, I came out appalling Spock (Zachary Quinto), although he’s the ultimate bad guy in Heroes, but he’s so cool and manly in the movie… Keke… The only not-good-thing was there were some technical problem, that the movie stopped when the movie was in it’s climax and everyone was like “Ooohhhh….”, including me. I dunno what happened to the technicians they took at least 15 minutes to make the movie back to normal, and everyone can watch it happily. But in all, it’s still a very good movie and the problem didn’t spoil the fun watching it.

I watched 11 epis of hyakki yakoushou in yin’s house, and the yesterday the last epi. It’s a short jap drama about a boy who can see ghosts and spirits, and how he encounter those who want to hurt him. I like the drama very much though it’s not a very fast-action-based drama with extraordinary technologies and story line, but rather a (slow) story that touch on family, friendship, promises and faith. From the drama, it can be seen that the Japanese really believe there are spirits every living things or non living things, that may be one of the reasons that they still preserve their culture, nature and environment very well despite rapid development in the cities.

Am in love with Bleach’s op, Velonica by Aquaz Times. ^^

It’s time to do a detailed planning on how to read all books, watch all movies, and meet all friends in five weeks. Ganbarimasu.

Last day of exam~

Last paper, Prose 1. 2 questions answers with 20 marks for each question. Wonder how elaborating on 1 point can get 20 marks. Is it just me, 1 point?

Then, like last semester, Teslians (+Actuar-ians) outing after exam. Same place, same event---MidValley, movie, dinner and shopping. This time we watched Wolverine (after much debating on which movie to watch, and i win,no snipers, muahahahaha~), it's nice, like it very much, the actions are really awesome^ ^...

Later went to Chopsticks for dinner + early celebration for Crystal and PhangKhit's birthday. Happy Birthday guys!

Missed Alan's birthday party though, so surprised Darius came back (in his pilot trainee uniform...looked more nurse to me...). I wish i can kagebunshin, then i can attend every events tonight (cg especially...). Happy Birthday Alan!
